    Director of Content Marketing is a leader who shapes content across Arcadia’s marketing strategies. This position will protect and promote the brand, create integrated strategic marketing plans, and develop engaging content strategies across the institution. The Director will strategically and creatively capitalize on the value of all content channels and assets and oversee the development and implementation of integrated strategic marketing plans.

     

    The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think strategically; to develop and implement integrated marketing and communications plans; to meet deadlines and work under pressure; to communicate effectively with senior administrators, faculty, and staff in a persuasive, beneficial, diplomatic, and constructive manner; oversee and guide a team with a wide range of areas of expertise; effectively work with a diverse range of individuals; and work as part of a team with multiple areas of focus. The ideal candidate must have strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills,

     

    The Director must be a dynamic and skilled communicator who inspires creativity from the marketing, web, and graphic design teams. This position reports to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications and is responsible for a comprehensive and innovative marketing and content strategy.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Create a content strategy for integrating channels and outreach across all platforms that produces fresh, accurate, and effective content to build the brand and support the institution’s goals.
    • Develop a content strategy and cycle to optimize website content and information architecture.
    • Identify opportunities for brand development and integration between PR,, website, digital, and print communications.
    • Collaborate with Communications team on innovative use of social media to support communication and engagement, particularly with students, prospective students, alumni, and other target audiences.
    • Develop a data-driven strategy using analytics, insights, and page data to ensure optimum user experience.
    • Manage backend organization, project management, and structure to improve processes and quality control.
    • Create, edit, and develop content for digital platforms, focusing on external and internal communications that support University branding and priorities.
    • Help develop institutional brand guidelines and best practices for content strategy.
    • Oversee marketing content creators and contributing web editors.
    • Ensure that all marketing copy is thoroughly researched, clearly written, reviewed/vetted by appropriate colleagues, and properly edited.
    • Ensure that all materials adhere to University policies.
    • Manage projects and maintain status and ensure outcome of projects are communicated with internal clients.
    • Maintain brand standards and a high level of attention to detail.
    • Additional roles or projects that may arise that are outside the description above, but that keep with the duties of the position.

     

    Marginal Functions 

    • Assist in event promotion and production activities as assigned. 
    • Contribute to the overall success of University Relations by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and partners.
    • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of search engine optimization best practices.
    • Experience maintaining creative, forward-thinking, and effective marketing initiatives including practical strategies, market research, and testing of target audiences.
    • Demonstrate a depth of knowledge of SEO best practices and an ability to manage content of University websites, maintaining a consistent quality, tone, and messaging with multiple authors.
    • Experience with Drupal CMS and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Understanding of video principles of engagement.
    • Strong leadership skills and problem resolution abilities, and sound judgment.
    • Proven history of delivering results on time and within budget.
    • Demonstrated understanding of brand management and development.
    • A working knowledge of various data insight platforms.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or English required; Master’s Degree preferred
    • Minimum of five years experience managing a creative team.
    • Professional communications experience with a focus on marketing, content strategy and/or brand management.
    • At least three years of work experience in higher education.
