    Arcadia University is seeking a Multimedia Assistant with knowledge in graphic design, photography, and web communications to aid in development of layouts, logos, web pages, photography and video. Along with the Associate Art Director, Multimedia Editor, and Web Content Editor, as well as other University department/division leaders, the multimedia assistant will be a "Jack of All Trades" for the Office of University Relations. Reporting directly to the Associate Art Director, the ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in graphic design or photography, 1-3 years of relevant experience or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. We are looking for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, positive attitude, with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with an attention to detail.     Essential Functions

    • Produce from concept to product published materials including brochures, invitations, announcements, ads, and signage.
    • Support all multimedia content needs including organization, tagging, prioritization, and scouting
    • Stay current to industry trends and maintain cutting edge design, photography, and web communications knowledge, including email design
    • Contribute to all stages of production and make edits and changes as necessary
    • "Manage" the approval process for college publications and collateral marketing pieces
    • Participate in conceptualization meetings designed to generate new ideas through discussion, and to develop these ideas into viable projects or promotions


    General Responsibilities


    45% Multimedia Content Design and Development

    • Fulfillment of design requests
    • Multimedia content development
    • Production of marketing campaign content
    • Monitor brand usage for accuracy
    • Develop content for, and maintain digital signage


    25% Photography and Videography Support

    • Shooting and editing videos
    • Campus photography including events and student activities


    25% Web Communications

    • Web editor for the University website, updating content and adding pages as appropriate.
    • Cleaning content, check for broken links, adding calendar events to the site and performing general content audits.
    • Creating design comps for web page redesigns


    5% Other duties as assigned

    • Event support and other duties as assigned.
    • Back up for social media campaigns

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • A strong sense of artistic style and creative flair. Must be able to communicate ideas visually, verbally and in writing
    • Excellent organization and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to adjust to frequent changes in project priorities
    • Excellent people skills – personable, positive, able to deal with challenges and issues
    • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction/supervision
    • Expert ability using Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and  Lightroom, on Mac platform is a must
    • Demonstrated graphic design skills
    • Demonstrated CMS experience, specifically Drupal
    • Experience with DSLR photography and post processing
    • Knowledge of Drupal CMS or similar content management systems
    • Expert knowledge of the printing process and related production activities, including file preparation and output, prepress and print requirements
    • Ability to attend evening and weekend events as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or photography
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, ad agency or higher education institution


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in higher education a plus.
