  • Overview

    This position provides support for the Associate Dean of International Programs as well as to all of the staff and operations of the Office of International Programs, including the English Language Institute, International Student Services, and Short- Term Study Abroad Programs (Preview and Global Field Study Courses). In particular, this position is the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students and the public who seek information about the international programs managed by OIP.

    Essential Functions


    • Provide administrative support for all of the functions of the Office of International Programs, including maintaining data and files for all OIP responsibilities, organizing and overseeing department events, and ongoing Activities of the unit
    • Provide administrative support for the Associate Dean of International Programs and other staff members 
    • Monitor expenditures, budgets and processing of related materials
    • Interact with students, staff and faculty across the University in support of the activities of the Office of International Programs.
    • Process contracts and documentation for those teaching courses under the auspices of the Office of International Programs and ensuring compliance with University guidelines
    • Supervise student workers

    Marginal Functions


    • Support campus wide activities such as honor society inductions and graduation (graduate and undergraduate)
    • Open Doors Report: National census on credit-bearing international experiences
    • Support International Education Week activities




    Received: Reports directly to the Associate Dean of International Programs. Receives general direction working from established policies and objectives. Plans and carries out assignments and resolves most conflicts that arise. Completed work is checked only to determine feasibility and compatibility with other work, or effectiveness in meeting objectives of the unit.


    Given: Supervises work study students.

    • General knowledge of popular social media software and other forms of electronic communication


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associate's required; Bachelors' preferred
    • 2 - 4 years' experience in higher education environment
    • Combined education and experience okay
