  • Overview

    The Program Support Specialist is a full time staff position supporting the administrative aspects of the Physician Assistant (PA) program. This position is based in the Department of Medical Science, at Arcadia University, Glenside PA campus. This position carries responsibility for accurate data entry and spreadsheet management, and aggregating programmatic data. Successful performance in this position requires critical thinking, timely and effective written and oral communication skills, and attention to accuracy. The Program Support Specialist should be comfortable learning and using a variety of software programs and applications, including those unique to Physician Assistant education.

     

    Arcadia's College of Health Sciences (CHS) houses the University's Community and Global Public Health Program, Genetic Counseling, Health Education, Medical Science (Physician Assistant Studies), and Physical Therapy programs. Through evidence-based practice and project-based learning, these programs prepare healthcare professionals for success in a rapidly changing global environment, with applied and pro bono clinical thesis work, clinical rotations, international fieldwork, and multicultural assessment.     Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Coordinate the applicant interview process
    • Coordinate programmatic events * Maintain programmatic data
    • Coordinate guest lecturer scheduling
    • Coordinate and collect paperwork required for student participation in clinical experiences
    • Proctor exams
    • Deploy surveys, collect responses and maintain accurate records
    • Greet and assist visitors, applicants, lecturers and students
    • Maintain office supplies for the department
    • Process medical licensing and educational credentialing requests
    • Serve as a liaison with University offices such as Public Safety, Facilities and Information Technology
    • Maintain a positive and professional presence on social media to inform and engage alumni, prospective students, and other members of our community

     

    Marginal Functions

    • Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to learn new technology and applications
    • Ability to learn and apply University and Program policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including Excel)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Google applications (Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, etc.)
    • Ability to work on multiple projects under time constraints
    • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
    • Ability to successfully complete required employee clearances

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • The successful candidate will possess experience in an administrative role, preferably one or more years in an educational environment

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
