    Associate Director of Marketing The Office of University Relations has an opening for an Associate Director of Marketing. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and enjoy being a part of a creative team. Primarily a marketing writer, this role creates content related to marketing initiatives including website content, promotional emails, marketing print materials, and advertising placements both in print and online. This position reports to the Director of Communications and is an integral member of the University Marketing Division. We are looking for a skilled marketing professional with experience in maintaining consistency across messaging, researching practical strategies, and conducting market research and testing of target audiences. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in higher education and who demonstrate successful campaign strategies.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Oversee the creation and publication of fresh, accurate, and timely promotional content to support the goals of the University.
    • Develop a content strategy and cycle to manage the website information architecture, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of SEO best practices.
    • Maintain the messaging and content of the University sites, ensuring a consistent quality, tone and messaging between multiple authors.
    • Manage special programs as assigned including program specific campaigns like Summer and Military and Veteran marketing.
    • Identify strategies for integration between website, digital, and print communications.
    • Create, edit, and develop content for digital platforms, focusing on external and internal messaging that supports Arcadia's branding priorities.
    • Develop marketing copy for all promotional advertising as well as scripting for advertising videos, radio, online, and print spots.
    • Use analytics to access effectiveness of digital communications and continually evaluate strategy and ensure optimum user experience.
    • Manage the University's internal and external mass email request system.
    • Contribute to the development of institutional guidelines and best practices for content strategy, contributors, and editors, including information architecture, editorial calendars, content templates, etc.
    • Work alongside the Web Content Editor to assess marketing initiatives, setting benchmarks and goals, creating dashboards, and driving a data-driven agenda with the UR team.
    • Ensure that all marketing copy is thoroughly researched, clearly written, reviewed, and vetted by appropriate University personnel.
    • Ensure that all materials adhere to University styles, and that status and outcome of projects are communicated with interested parties.

     

     

    University Relations team functions

    • Trained to assist in editing website content.
    • Project manage jobs as assigned.
    • Assist in University major events and activities as assigned.
    • Contribute to the overall success of University Relations by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent writing, copy editing, and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and edit content for web.
    • Demonstrated ability to compose engaging digital marketing content.
    • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of search engine optimization best practices. 
    • Must have experience with Drupal CMS and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Understanding of video principles.
    • Ability to oversee multiple projects with varying deadlines, using project management systems.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, marketing or a related major.
    • Three to five years of relevant work experience in an academic setting. 

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Higher Education experience
