The Graduate Programs Assistant is a support position responsible for processing inquiries and applications for the full-time graduate programs. Additionally, the position carries responsibility for timely output of reports, emails and letters, and managing the flow of information between the Enrollment Management Office and the graduate departments. The Programs Assistant participates in telephone coverage and on-campus events, carries out data entry of applications, inquirer data, and other information, as well as managing student workers assigned to tasks related to graduate admissions.

Essential Functions

  • Data Entry of applications and inquirers, including work with centralized application sites for several programs.
  • Daily generation and output of letters, reports, and data.
  • Telephone, email and in-person customer service, including communication with current applicants about the status of their applications.
  • Collaborate with the graduate programs on admissions processes and procedures.
  • Telephone reception time slots-answer incoming calls.
  • Quality control of the database for full-time graduate inquiries and applicants.
  • Utilize the document scanning system in support of application processing and record-keeping.
  • Provide information about both undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic programs, and financial aid, and scholarships to prospective students and families.
  • Participate in open houses and other on-campus recruiting events, including several evenings and weekend programs.
  • Supervise work-study students and graduate assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Graduate Admissions, the Vice-President for Enrollment Management, or their designees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher
  • Preference for at least one year's experience in a college admissions office
