Overview

The person in this part-time position will assist in the general supervision of the Kuch Center operations and outdoor athletic facilities, perform regular rounds to monitor usage, oversee student staff at assigned locations, enforce facility rules and regulations, and provide support for event management at home athletic contests. This position requires regular weekend and occasional weeknight shifts.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Monitors general operations of the Kuch Center and outdoor athletic facilities during assigned shifts. Performs regular rounds to oversee usage.
  • Follows protocols for opening and closing of athletic facilities.
  • Assists in monitoring safety, security, storage, and cleanliness of athletic facilities and submits work orders as needed.
  • Oversees assigned student staff at designated locations.
  • Provides quality customer service and answers questions from facility users and visitors.
  • Enforces facility rules and regulations.
  • Communicates directly with supervisor, Public Safety, and Facilities regarding emergency situations.
  • Provides game management support during home athletic events, including administrative oversight, crowd control, setup, breakdown, and sport-specific operational support. Acts as a liaison to visiting teams and officials during home athletic events.

  • Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Division by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Received: Coordinator of Athletic Facilities & Events

Given: Supervises student employees.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills across varied constituencies.
  • Basic computer competency required.
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on foot and do walking rounds throughout athletic facilities required.
  • Ability to work weekend and occasional weeknight shifts required.
  • Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.
  • Commitment to and sensitivity towards diversity.
  • Positively represents the unit, department, and/or the University on policy, programs, or objectives.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and additional required employee clearances.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree preferred, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required with previous experience in athletics or related field strongly preferred. Prior health club, fitness center, or facility management shifts preferred.

 

 

Other Requirements:

  • Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications required. Training can be provided after hired if necessary.
  • Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
